WWE star was left seriously impressed by AEW match

Randy Orton was seriously impressed by the match on AEW between former WWE stars Claudio Castagnoli and Dax Harwood.

On the September 9 episode of AEW Rampage, Claudio lost his ROH World Championship against Docs of FTR.

Many feuds viewed the match as one of the best TV matches of the month, and it looks like Randy Orton agrees.

Randy Orton’s praise for Dax v Claudio

Speaking McMania, Dax revealed that Randy had texted him and Claudio after the match. by Ringside News.

The former WWE Champion couldn’t stop talking about how great the match between the former WWE stars was, with their sales telling them it was “what’s missing in wrestling,” which is definitely high praise.

It might get him into trouble, but whatever. After my match with Claudio [Castagnoli]Randy Orton sent me and Claudio text messages and couldn’t stop talking about how great the match was, and what was missing in selling and wrestling.

Randy is notorious for being impressionable, so both Dax and Claudio receiving texts from the former WWE Champion show just how great their match is going to be.

Randy Orton is one of the top stars in WWE right now

As noted, this match was for Claudio’s ROH World Championship, which he won from Jonathan Gresham at Death Before Dishonor on July 23.

However, Claudio (formerly Cesaro) is no longer the ROH World Champion, dropping his title to Chris Jericho on this week’s special ‘Grand Slam’ Rampage episode of AEW.

Dax, on the other hand, is the IWGP Tag Team Champion, AAA Tag Team Champion, and ROH Tag Team Champion, belts he holds alongside longtime tag team partner Cash Wheeler.

WWE plans for Randy Orton

By the end of 2021 going into 2022, Randy Orton had established himself as arguably WWE’s top babyface.

Randy has always been an amazing heel, but it took him until his 20th year in wrestling at the age of 42 to win over fans as a top face.

However, Randy was taken off TV in May this year due to a serious back injury, which is feared to keep him out of action until 2023.

At the time, Randy was the Raw Tag Team Champion and was set to feud with Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship heading into SummerSlam 2022.

As of now, there is no word on when exactly Randy will return from his injury, but as noted, he is not expected to return until the end of the year.
