Who has won the most overall Championships in history?

Throughout WWE’s long history, many superstars have had consistent success and won multiple titles, but who has won the most overall?

When determining what a true title reign is in WWE, there must be some boundaries. Titles like 24/7 and Hardcore are not included, otherwise R-Truth would have an unassailable lead with his 54 24/7 reign. Also excluded are gimmicky belts such as the Million Dollar Championship.

Titles won outside of WWE in promotions such as WCW and TNA are also not included, leaving Ric Flair, Booker T and Sting out of contention. However, WCW titles won under the WWE umbrella do count, as the titles were technically “WCW” in the 2001 Invasion storyline.

This gives us the following titles: WWE, Universal, World Heavyweight, Intercontinental, United States, European and all tag belts.

Taking all these into account, GiveMeSport WWE takes you through the 10 wrestlers with the most championships in history…
