Steven Spielberg to Receive Berlin’s Honorary Golden Bear – The Hollywood Reporter

Steven Spielberg is set to receive a hero’s welcome at the 2023 Berlinale, where he will receive the festival’s “honor” and an honorary Golden Bear for lifetime achievement.

As part of the tribute, the Berlinale will be exhibited The FablemansSpielberg’s latest and most personal film from a career credit list that includes more than 100 features and series and three Oscars (from 19 nominations), several Golden Globes and Emmys, and several international honors (including a Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire in the UK and a Presidential Medal in the US of Freedom).

“With an incredible career, Steven Spielberg has enchanted generations of viewers around the world, while giving new meaning to ‘cinema’ as a factory of dreams,” said Berlinale director duo Mariette Riesenbeek and Carlo Chatrian. “Whether in the eternal magical world of youth or the reality etched forever by history, his films take us to a different level where the big screen becomes a surface enough to satisfy our emotions. If Berlinale 2023 represents a new beginning, we couldn’t find a better start than Spielberg’s great work.

The 2023 Berlinale is set to run from February 16-26. Honorary pictures and the date of the award ceremony will be announced at a later date.
