Roman Reigns’ emotional backstage interactions after announcing he had cancer

WWE stars were devastated by Roman Reigns’ announcement in 2018 that he was battling cancer.

In October 2018, Roman spoke to WWE fans as Joe Anoi, revealing that he had been diagnosed with leukemia for the second time.

The segment was one of the most raw and emotional in WWE history, and continued as Roman went backstage.

What happened backstage after Roman Reigns’ cancer announcement?

Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose met Roman at the top of the ramp after his announcement, hugging and consoling his Shield stablemate.

The cameras kept rolling as Roman made a sure comeback, catching his interactions with Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Nia Jax, Paul Heyman, Braun Strowman and others.

The footage is seriously emotional, showing Roman’s co-workers surprisingly devastated by the 37-year-old’s announcement about his health condition.

Fortunately, Roman was able to beat cancer a second time, announcing that he was in remission just four months later in February 2019.

Roman Reigns Latest News

Roman will defend his Undisputed WWE Universal Championship against Logan Paul at Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia this weekend.

The match will be Logan’s third in his career, with the YouTuber making enough of an impact in his limited appearances to land a major title shot against WWE’s biggest star.

Coming off the Crown Jewel, Roman is expected to remain on TV, with a match at Survivor Series later this month.

On the September 26 show, Roman was expected to be in one of two WarGames matches, which Triple H confirmed would take place back in September.
