Partnering with the company “made sense. I love what they do and what they offer, and the platform is easy to navigate,” she says. To simplify gift shopping, Tan has curated her top picks for every type of recipient. Holiday gift listIt ranges from a $30 beauty stocking stuffer to a luxurious Balenciaga bag.

Naturally, we had to pick France’s brain for more expert-approved ideas. The stylish Emmy-winning Fab Five member (and bonafide Lego icon) caught up THR To answer our burning gift questions, from whether gift cards can be made right to the best gift they’ve received recently.

Thoughts on Gift Cards: Yes or No?

You know, if it’s based on fashion, [a gift card] Really what I recommend. Many disagree and many say it is impersonal. For example let’s say your favorite store is J. Crew. Even if I’m a good friend or family member, I don’t always like what you like out there. But if I know you like a store in particular, I’ll get it as a gift card. I know you well enough to get it, but I want you to have the freedom to choose what you get. Or you may end up going back. I want you to love what you get. I think this is the most respectable way to make gift cards.

I know many people ask for experiences instead of tangible gifts. Would you like to do this during the holidays?

Here’s the thing: In my opinion, even my husband – I’ve been with him for 14 and a half years – I don’t know exactly what he likes. I think experiences are better in some cases. When it comes to the holidays, I love a gift. I want to unveil something and that’s what everyone expects.

It’s other experiences – birthdays, valentines, anniversaries – in those aspects I’m not afraid of gifts. My husband doesn’t need to buy me anything. Take me somewhere — Let’s go to brunch at my favorite restaurant or go to a theme park. But when it comes to the holidays, I’m really into Christmas – I love the collection – it’s a really joyful holiday and there’s something about opening a present.

What will your holiday look like this year?

I consider the holidays from Thanksgiving to New Years. For Thanksgiving, I cooked everything for everyone! I’ve been doing it for 13 years for everyone, so we do a festival. There are usually 7 or 8, or 12 or 13 of us. Then we basically do the same thing in the new year, but I change the baked goods.

We heard your holiday decorating It goes well before December.

I am very Muslim, but every year we change the colors of the Christmas tree a little bit. Last year it was red and gold, the year before that it was turquoise.

You recently became a parent! Do you and your husband celebrate the holidays differently now that you have your son?

Not yet because he’s too young. He’ll be one and a half, so he won’t really know. We read to him every night. We always tell the book what people can get for him. He loves a good book.

What is his favorite book right now?

It’s pretty obvious, but it is good night moon. He scratches it; He loves “catching” mice!

We love everything you’ve put together for your Klarna gift guide. what are you Hope to unwrap this year?

In fact, I actually have a thing in my Klarna Gift Guide. I added it on purpose. I always buy a gift – I love things! Mine is this Balenciaga bag. Without it, it would have been a different bag, like the little Jacquemus bag. I have really fidgety hands so I have to hold things already!

How about technical gifts? Do you have a foolproof go-to?

My family is very tech-y, but I can’t figure out how to use my laptop. My failsafe is one of those little consoles, the Nintendo Switch. I don’t know what it is or how it works, I just know that kids are obsessed with them.

Let’s talk festive fashion! What are your style recommendations? Are sparkles and sparkles overdone during the holidays?

This may surprise you, but I really enjoy the tradition of lightning. I do! Let me say, you don’t want to be the curmudgeon who says, “I’m going to wear a t-shirt and jeans” on vacation. Everyone knows what it is: it’s campy, it’s funny, it’s supposed to be a lark. Wear that velvet, wear that lurex. Wear those sparkles. Glam it up!

The approach you take with fashion?

I rarely, [except] When I’m on TV or when I’m on the carpet. I am very simple in my normal life. I am a regular Christmas sweater wearer.

Speaking of fashion, we love your luxury gift options. For those who don’t have the budget to gift Gucci, do you have recommendations for fashionable stocking stuffers or accessories?

As far as fashion accessories go, I always love a jewelry moment for friends. You don’t have to go big on the bag or the shoes. If you can and you know them well, but you want to keep it simple and subtle and unexpected for a friend, I think a piece of jewelry is lovely to give. It could be a costume [jewelry], something expensive and not unique. For example, this ring [I’m wearing] It’s $15, I found it at a street vendor in New York.

What’s the best gift you’ve ever been given?

Easy, Antony Porowski gave me arguably the most thoughtful gift ever. When my son was born it was a necklace. He inscribed his initials and the day of his birth on it, and I make frequent and almost public appearances of it.
