Keith LeeHis amazing performance at Survivor Series 2019 serves as a reminder of his unique talent and how WWE The later years dropped the ball on him in a big way.
After debuting on NXT in August 2018, Lee had only been on WWE TV for a year by the time of the classic pay-per-view. He had previously wrestled in Ring of Honor and Pro Wrestling Guerrilla but was largely unknown. mainstream audience.
Not since he starred in the main event of an obviously classic elimination match, which took over NXT Raw and SmackDown for the only time to date. It’s a coming-out party for Lee and recognition of NXT’s position as a true alternative to the blue and red brands.
It was a stacked match and Lee stood out from the crowd
Along with Lee on the Black and Gold side were Tommaso Ciampa, Damian Priest, Matt Riddle and Walter (now known as Gunther). All four of these men are now main roster players and, with the exception of Ciampa, superstars. This makes Lee’s mismanagement even more shocking.
Anyway, back to the match. Lee found himself as the final member of the NXT team facing off against the Smackdown star man Roman Dominion. Keith and Ciampa battled for their team after losing three of their teammates early and allowed them to showcase their talents.
Lee certainly eliminated Seth Rollins, the leader of the Raw team who was a two-time WWE Champion and Royal Rumble in the calendar year, Survivor Series match before facing the Big Dog in one of the best finishing sequences of the classic.

Lee appeared at the top but was gone within two years
Lee’s pop-up powerbomb is effortless and Reigns is a big guy whose moonsault is ridiculously impressive given his super-heavyweight size. Reigns taking a clean pinfall was vintage at the time, and it’s crazy now to see such a muted but negative reaction to him winning.
Although Reigns rose to greater heights after this incident, Lee saw his WWE career peak relatively soon and ended two years later. under Triple H, He initially became the first NXT and North American Champion and was destined for the top spot.
A combination of Triple H’s serious health issues and Lee’s own lengthy battle with COVID-19 put paid to his hopes of main roster success. Vince McMahon didn’t know what to do with him and always preferred wrestlers who looked more athletic, which was already a concern. A brief run as “Bearcat” cut short his main roster run, and he left the company in November 2021.
He would still be in WWE and not AEW if The Game had previously been in charge.
What has happened since then is more regrettable for WWE. Keith showed his obvious talent in AEW, winning the tag titles with another former NXT star, Swerve Strickland, while Triple H replaced Vince McMahon as creative head.
Had The Game been in charge in the past he would never have left like many others, and he will undoubtedly remain a favorite. Bring it back to the fold. What a shame.
