‘Falcon and the Winter Soldier’ Director Kari Skogland to Helm ‘Wind River’ Sequel – The Hollywood Reporter

The Falcon and the Winter Soldier Director Kari Skogland is at the helm Wind River: The Next ChapterSequel to the 2017 crime drama set on a Native American reservation in Wyoming starring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.

Martin Sensmeier stars and reprises the role of Chip Hanson. Patrick Massett and John Zinman wrote the sequel, with additional cast to be announced before production begins in January 2023.

in Wind River: The Next Chapter, Terrorism escalates on the Wind River Reservation, as a series of ritual murders remain unsolved. The FBI enlists Hanson, a newly minted tracker for US Fish & Game, who becomes embroiled in a desperate and dangerous battle between the authorities, the vigilantes, and the reservation they call home.

The film is produced by Matthew George for Castle Rock Entertainment and Acacia Filmed Entertainment, and Basil Evanick and Erica Lee for Thunder Road Pictures. Executive producers include Rob Reiner, Michael Reiner, Derrick Rossi, Jonathan Fuhrman, Courtney Shepard and Hernan Naria.

Canadian director Skogland is also attached to direct Cleopatra, With Gal Gadot. He was previously set to direct Matthew McConaughey Dallas StingA soccer film from Skydance and Berlanti Schechter Productions was canceled six weeks before production over misconduct allegations.
