Bray Wyatt & John Cena 2014 video package was brilliant

Bray WattWrestleMania faced him for the first time John Cena In the feud that saw the two WWE Superstars from different worlds collide.

The Wyatt Family debuted on the WWE main roster in July 2013 but by April of the following year, their cult leader was facing the top man in the company on the grandest stage of them all. It indicates the impact that a unique character has had in a short period of time.

Wyatt wanted to prove that Cena’s heroic good-guy act was a facade that reflected the “age of lies” he lived in, and the hatred that Wyatt wanted to turn him into a “monster.” All very cult-esque behavior that Wyatt wanted to influence and warp the WWE icon.

Their feud is perfectly captured in a memorable video segment

Like many WWE feuds of the year (think Stone Cold vs. The Rock at WrestleMania 17), the video promo package put together to hype and cap their rivalry before their WrestleMania match was top-notch stuff from the company’s production team.

It focused on Cena’s WWE legacy during his then-12 years on the main roster, his multiple world title wins, visits to US troops overseas and his connection with fans, and Wyatt’s desire to tear it all down.

The use of Eminem’s track “Legacy” makes the promo even better, perfectly covering the video and everything going on in the feud. See for yourself below (provided by Tweet @FreeWrestleMind)

The video was great but Wyatt should have won the feud

Some of the more interesting aspects of the feud were Wyatt’s completely accurate declaration that Cena was a loser and that Cena was afraid of the “Eater of Worlds”. Perhaps Bray’s best line in it is when he says, “Your fear is my strength.” forecast

It was Wyatt and his henchmen Luke Harper and Erick Rowan who were a white-hot act and very believable. Of course, this doesn’t end for Bray as the company has ruined several opportunities with him.

John Cena Bray Wyatt

The first of these was a WrestleMania match where Cena defeated the rising superstar for a slight advantage. Wyatt got his revenge at Backlash inside the steel cage before the feud ended when Cena won the Last Man Standing match at Payback. This is very self-defeating from WWE.

The pair later met again at WrestleMania 36 in 2020, which featured Wyatt’s version of “The Fiend” defeating Cena in a highly innovative and interesting Firefly Fun House match.

What’s next for Wyatt and Cena?

Bray is currently one of the biggest stars in the industry after his mega return to WWE at Extreme Rules. A short-lived feud with L.A. Knight is playing out in the background as he battles himself and the mysterious Uncle Howdy this time.

Cena is rumored to be returning to the ring at WrestleMania 39, here is a list of potential opponents. Could Wyatt and Cena III take place in Hollywood?
