Anthony Hopkins’ ‘Freud’s Last Session’ Bought by Sony Pictures Classics – The Hollywood Reporter

Sony Pictures Classics pre-purchased Freud’s last sessionBy director Matt Brown (A man who knows infinity) and Oscar winner Anthony Hopkins as famous neurologist Sigmund Freud.

Film — also starring Matthew Goode (crown, Offer) as Narnia author CS Lewis – chosen by SPC, which would later reunite with Hopkins father and has bought the rights to airlines in North America, the Middle East, India, Eastern Europe (except Russia) and worldwide.

Written by Marc St. Germain (Committee of God) and based on his play of the same name, Freud’s last session Set on the eve of World War II and near the end of his life, Freud invites iconic author CS Lewis (Goode) to debate the existence of God. Innovatively, the film explores Freud’s unique relationship with his gay daughter Anna and Lewis’ unconventional romance with his best friend’s mother, interweaving past, present and fantasy.

The film was produced by Alan Griezmann (Bucket list), Rick Nisita (Hacksaw Ridge), Meg Thomson (Siren) and Hanna hero (Gosford Park, Dollyland, Blinded by the light) will begin production in the UK in late January 2023. With Westend Films handling sales, the company has deals in Australia (Sharmil Films), Italy (Adler), Portugal (NOS), Israel (United Kingdom) and Greece. (Spentzos).
