While training to be a wrestler, he refereed a few matches
Before joining WWE, Orton wrestled for a local promotion near his hometown of St. Louis, Missouri, where he was trained by a staff including his father, Bob Orton Jr. In addition, he refereed some matches for World Organized Wrestling, where his uncle Barry worked. .
